If you’re into Christmas rom-coms, you need this If you’re into Christmas rom-coms, you need this book in your life.

I’m currently working on a project and immersed in professional books (I was going to say “drowning in” but that was - only slightly - too dramatic) so I figured I needed something completely different to clear the palate every night - and It Happened One Christmas delivered!

Years after a childhood holiday visit to Chelsea, Quebec, Zoey returns looking for movie permits for the upcoming film she wrote. Of course the young, handsome mayor-slash-Christmas-tree-farmer is standing in her way!

I loved the Christmasy Quebecois setting and the plot did not disappoint. Another charmer from 🇨🇦 author @chantelguertin.
What an incredible night! I’ve definitely never What an incredible night! I’ve definitely never seen a show like that before - Taylor Swift is an entertainer completely beyond compare. While I dressed for the Red Era, I would say my favourite set of songs at the concert was from the 1989 Era.

See final photo for flashback to the last time @lisa.i.devries and I took our girls to see Taylor in 2018 - when we were upgraded from 500s to floor!

I will put some videoclips in stories but I really tried to just soak it all in - hours of singing and dancing! Also kudos to City of Toronto, GO/TTC and Rogers Centre for a really slick experience.

As Remembrance Day approaches, are you looking for As Remembrance Day approaches, are you looking for a lesson on war that’s appropriate for young students? Check out the Winnie the Bear lesson from @onlit.social’s Important Canadians unit.

While it was designed as a read-aloud for K-1, we’ve heard of teachers in older grades printing the text for students as well.

The lesson includes a set of slides to be projected as students hear the text, as well as comprehension questions and explicit vocabulary work.

Go to ONlit.org and search Winnie!
What would be your next steps instructionally for What would be your next steps instructionally for this Year 2 kindergarten student? (Work was completed independently.)

Of course I have ideas but thought it would be fun and beneficial to discuss and collaborate!
I’m with @katiebrooks82 on this one - if you kno I’m with @katiebrooks82 on this one - if you know it boosts your serotonin, it’s never too early for Christmas. Holiday bedding is very out of character for this minimalist, but it’s already lifting my spirits. I even just ordered some Christmas kitchen towels, when literally ALL my current kitchen towels are the same charcoal gray model because I like simplicity. But when it comes to Christmas, those little touches make a big difference. 🤶

What a great chance for my coproducer @unamalcolm and me to reflect on our little show and how far we’ve come.

Thanks for the invitation @claramariafiorentini!
Our kindergarten students use TIDE (Topic, Importa Our kindergarten students use TIDE (Topic, Important Details, End) from @thinksrsd to orally describe their show and share photo each week. Now we are working on getting those ideas into print! Right now they’re dictating, I scribe, and they copy (1 sentence per day over a week)…but with the incredible gains they’re making with phonics they will be sounding out their own sentences soon! Check out this amazing paragraph on the Northern Lights!
