Since first sharing a huge post with the full reveal of our main floor reno, I’ve been busy on Instagram posting about many of the details – which you can now find below!

I have to say Instagram is definitely the social media platform where I am the most active – and I actually keep up with others’ posts – so please give me a follow so I can follow back and keep up with your life too! 🙂 If you’re not on Instagram yet…why not???

1. Table & Chairs

We love how much space we have around our Mennonite-made dining table now (we also have leaves to put in the ends and two extra chairs for bigger parties) and the Wayfair chairs complement our Farmhouse Glam vibe perfectly…plus, they're wipable! (The pulls on the back are a nice touch too.) Our dining area used to be where the sectional is now, with our former table running left to right, and it was a tight squeeze. It's amazing what a difference it can make when you reconfigure your space. We were also way too matchy-matchy when we built the house, and our natural oak table and chairs blended right into our natural oak hardwood floor. This time we made sure to choose wood finishes that work together but aren't the same! With one big light fixture over the table my designer @meredithkirkrealtor suggested either two "centerpieces" or one long one. I started with the two large candle holders, but when a friend showed up with tulips of course I wanted to add them to the mix temporarily! I shared a huge reno reveal on the blog recently – follow the link in bio for all the details! #reno #renovation #whitekitchen #dream kitchen #kitchenreno #kitchenremodel #diningroom #mennonitefurniture

2. Sectional/Reading Corner

That cozy window corner has become my favourite post-reno reading spot in the house. It took a long time to choose the perfect sectional, but we ended up finding it on @wayfaircanada (along with the rug and coffee table). Floral cushion covers are @chaptersindigo, mirror @homesensecanada, frames @posterjack and wall colour is Ellie Grey by @sherwinwilliams. I like to announce the name of the paint colour to guests as early as possible before they compliment my blue (or green) walls. It's GREY! (I will admit it seems to constantly change colour throughout the day, which is actually kind of neat.) Design credit as always to @meredithkirkrealtor and a shout-out to our contractor @darling_contracting. If you missed all the details in our big reno reveal you can find everything on the blog (link in bio). #reno #renovation #sectional #coffeetable #gallerywall

4. Island

(There was a slideshow of photos here but you can only see the first one – pop over to Instagram to see them all!)

The island is a big focal point in our new space and we are loving it! There is storage on both sides, like my toaster drawer and built-in cutlery drawer (the stool side is more shallow and I put lesser-used items there, like champagne glasses). Wood By Design did such a great job of adding detail to the island to make it look more like furniture too. We are also really happy with the stools we purchased from Wayfair – they swivel, are super comfy and solid, and have an eye-catching Celtic design on the backs. (We actually purchased 6 – which we could have squeezed in – but sent 2 back so we could go for a more spacious look. Plus, there are 4 in our family!) For anyone wondering, the colour of the island is Asphalt by Benjamin Moore and the countertop is Rococo quartz from Delray. If you have questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment or message me!
