I will admit: I rarely think to shop for kids’ clothes at sports stores. Running shoes, definitely. Clothing? Hasn’t really occurred to me. It’s time to admit the error of my ways, because when the girls received a back-to-school shipment from SportChek they were totally pumped! (To quote Eva: “I feel like this outfit was made for me. It’s the outfit of my dreams!”…and she’s not my more dramatic child!)
Here is my Little Miss Thrilled modeling her new goods:
Some close-up shots:
Under Armour coldgear hoodie & Nike Power leggings
Nike Elemental Backpack (with padded back panel for comfort)
Adidas Superstar running shoes
“I’ve seen kids in middle school and high school on TV wearing these shoes!” was her response. We’ve decided that the beautiful white sneakers are best suited to be her indoors, and she’ll get to wear them in the classroom every day and use them for gym.
Olivia was similarly enthused about her look, gasping as she pulled items out of the box. (I swear, I’m not exaggerating.)
Nike sweatshirt & Adidas leggings
Nike Cheyenne Backpack
Adidas running shoes – I want a pair of these myself now, as I love the look…almost like a cozy sweater!
It’s funny – if I were picking a backpack for Liv I would have assumed she would want something “girlier”, yet she was super enthused about the black look. A good reminder not to project things onto my kids, especially now that they’re getting older and clearer in their own preferences (not just the random and safe-to-ignore “I want the red sippy cup” demands of days gone by).
While I’m glad my girls aren’t obsessed with specific brands, I do know that some companies have a reputation for making high-quality clothing (Under Armour, Nike, Adidas), which is important when you want their school clothes to last.
Check out your local SportChek store or the SportChek site for all these great items and so much more!
