If you follow me on social media, you have likely seen that I am the proud signatory for this year’s Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation holiday fundraising campaign, Make This Your Moment, with the hopes of raising money for a new MRI.

The process began back in the spring when Kim Coulter, the Communications Specialist from the Foundation, read about my cancer story online and reached out to see if I might be interested in supporting their fundraising efforts. Clearly great minds think alike: I had “email Kim Coulter” on my to-do list for the next month, but she got to me first!
It was eye-opening for me to see the process of putting together a campaign – we sent multiple drafts of the letter back and forth, there was a photoshoot, we filmed a TV commercial and I recorded a radio spot too!
You can read more details about the campaign and my involvement in my Instagram post above (and if you’re not a Kawartha Lakes resident receiving my letter in the mail you can read it here) – the key message is that having quality care close to home is a big deal, which I experienced firsthand. If you’re able to support this cause, please do so – and if you message me to let me know you will make my day! You can donate at rmh.org/foundation.
